Article 45

It has been said before that if the Gospel is preached, i.e. if the Gospel is exalted, man abased, Christ lifted up, and sinners pointed to Him... it ia a good message! And if does not touch us or profit us, then the problems lie with us. Like physical hunger; hunger for the Word is a blessing from God, which indicated life. When a newborn child enters this physical world, it immediately craves the breast. No hunger, no life! Hence the exhortation, "as newborn babes desire the sincere milk of the Word that you may grow thereby" (1 Peter 2:2). What we all must do before hearing the word is ask God to create a hunger and thirst for His Word; to prepare our hearts to receive it.
